Library in our school has lost its use for a long time. I wonder why a school which promote reading but hesitate to open the library.

Reflection

ReflectionInteractive learning objects have been used in education for a long time. Most of the education settings are well equipped with multi-media information technology that initiated the use of visual and interactive presentation. In primary schools, the commonly used software for designing learning objects are Microsoft powerpoint and Macromedia flash where the later one requires more technical skills. In my experience, using flash presentation is interactive and attractive. The multi functional characteristic of flash enables teachers to design learning objects in different areas of learning. Students are usually more on-task with interactive presentation. It is not difficult to design a learning object but it is time consuming to put it in action. When using flash, you should know a variety of imaging principles. Moreover, the techniques of writing action script can only be mastered after a long time practice and lots of failure. In this project, I spent hundreds of hours on learning flash. The result was not a satisfied one. The outcome was greatly different from what we have designed. We should have changed our mind a month ago. We insisted to use flash to present our idea was finally proved to be a mistake. There are many ways of presentation and we shouldn’t limit our choice of design.

This project was designed and worked on by both Sophie and David. However, deal to some personal reasons, we both use flash to produce our learning object.

It’s another learning object that presented by ppt.

It’s very useful in fact. I think it is not the matter of using what kind of presentation but it is the matter of how much it brought.

Our presentation is quite simple. But I can assure you that I used thousand of hours to over come the difficulties. Help!!

chinese culture

It’s really a difficult job!

I’d spent thousands of hours but the work was still unfinishedThose action keys are quite difficult to manage and I still cannot solve the problem for showing different objects in different time.

By the way it was a very good experience that make me rethink for several times. For teachers with limited technical skill in creating learning objects, really need a good technical assistant at thier right of left hand side.

About Flash
Posted on March 26th, 2007 at 11:43 pm by and

Flash is one of the most useful tools for presenting visual information. In the digital world, Flash technology has become a popular method for adding animation and interactivity to web pages; several software products, systems, and devices are able to create or display Flash. Flash is commonly used to create animation, advertisements, various web-page components, to integrate video into web pages, and more recently, to develop rich Internet applications. It wasn’t a nice experience when I first started flash. It is time cosuming to gather images, editing the images and create the animation minutes by minutes. However, when you’ve got experience, you’d be amazed by the creativity of oneself.

For my last presentation, I’ll try to make a movie of my chinese literature. I think it will be quite difficult to put imagination into real images. However, I think that is what Flash allow us to create.
