ReflectionInteractive learning objects have been used in education for a long time. Most of the education settings are well equipped with multi-media information technology that initiated the use of visual and interactive presentation. In primary schools, the commonly used software for designing learning objects are Microsoft powerpoint and Macromedia flash where the later one requires more technical skills. In my experience, using flash presentation is interactive and attractive. The multi functional characteristic of flash enables teachers to design learning objects in different areas of learning. Students are usually more on-task with interactive presentation. It is not difficult to design a learning object but it is time consuming to put it in action. When using flash, you should know a variety of imaging principles. Moreover, the techniques of writing action script can only be mastered after a long time practice and lots of failure. In this project, I spent hundreds of hours on learning flash. The result was not a satisfied one. The outcome was greatly different from what we have designed. We should have changed our mind a month ago. We insisted to use flash to present our idea was finally proved to be a mistake. There are many ways of presentation and we shouldn’t limit our choice of design.
This project was designed and worked on by both Sophie and David. However, deal to some personal reasons, we both use flash to produce our learning object.
